Yu Chen didn’t expect him to say this. He wasn’t as sensitive as Ling Qing; just now, the atmosphere between them was strange, but he hadn’t given it much thought.

The only reason he had reached out to hug Ling Qing was because he had been possessive.

At 8 o’clock the next morning, Yu Chen woke to the sound of his alarm. Raising his hand to turn it off, he was about to get up when Ling Qing suddenly tightened his hold. 

Unable to turn off the alarm, Yu Chen tried to maneuver his right hand out of Ling Qing’s grasp, but Ling Qing struggled, holding him tightly as he said dazedly, “What are you doing?”

“It’s 8 o’clock. I need to go to work, Mrs. Yu.” Yu Chen explained.

Only then, did Ling Qing slowly open his eyes to look at him hazily. “This early?”

Yu Chen nodded, “Yes, the early bird catches the worm.”

Ling Qing released him, “Then go catch them. Catch more of them.”

Nodding, Yu Chen smiled, “Sure.”

He watched as Ling Qing quickly closed his eyes, evidently having returned to sleep. He reached out and poked Ling Qing’s face before covering him with the quilt, preparing to return to his room in order to wash up. 

As soon as he exited the room, he ran into the steward. 

Steward Wang glanced at the person in front of him, then at the room he had just come out from, looking as if he’d just seen a ghost. 

Yu Chen: …

“Do you require an explanation, Young Master?” Steward Wang asked.

“Explanation?” Yu Chen was confused.

“For example, that this was all a misunderstanding. You did not come out from the Madam’s room, you did not spend the night in the Madam’s room, and you definitely did not do anything inappropriate with the Madam.”

“I didn’t do anything inappropriate with him,” Yu Chen protested.
