The Film Emperor Asks For Divorce Every Day 影帝每天都想离婚[穿书] Ch. 46

Translated by Neirith

Qin Yanyu: …

When he saw her choking, Ling Qing smirked and opened the door, alighting the car.

As he got out, Qin Yanyu’s agent glared at him with wary eyes.

“Take her over to touch up her makeup.” Ling Qing instructed, “She shouldn’t cry any longer.”

Having said this, he turned and left.

Qin Yanyu’s agent went up to the nanny van and opened the door. When Qin Yanyu looked at him, her eyes were red, but she was bereft of the sad expression she had previously held.

Instead, she appeared to be full of valor.

Getting out of the car, she said to her agent, “Let’s go touch up my makeup.”

Zhong Huan, who had finished filming, noticed Ling Qing was absent and began to contemplate his expression for the next scene when he saw Ling Qing walking back over.

“Where did you go?” he asked

“I went to find you a junior sister.”

“Huh?” Zhong Huan was stupefied.

Ling Qing gave him a pat on the shoulder. “My good disciple, you shouldn’t be my only apprentice. These individualized sessions can only be turned into a group lesson.”

Entirely puzzled, Zhong Huan asked, “Who did you find?”

“Our heroine.”

Zhong Huan: …

Distressed, Zhong Huan exclaimed, “In terms of seniority, she’s your senior sister!”

“Well, in the future, she’ll be your junior sister.”

Zhong Huan: …

Zhong Huan was feeling a bit incredulous.

He was a mere second tier actor, and all of the sudden, he acquired a first tier actress as his junior sister. This feeling was…

It was… pretty refreshing.

No, wait, Zhong Huan suddenly realized as he stared at Ling Qing, “Since when did you become my master?! Did I acknowledge you?!”

“Didn’t you recognize me when you came to me at the second watch? Did you forget, Wukong?”

“You really think of yourself as Buddha?”

“Of course not, it’s Kongkong* who thought of me first.” *this can also mean empty, implying that Zhong Huan is brainless

Zhong Huan was rendered speechless. “Who thought of you, it was you who suggested it to me!”

The only person in the world who would think that is you. Who would have known that a rap on the head would summon you to me?

Ling Qing studied the man in front of him, only to think that his mind was full of whimsy.

After Qin Yanyu finished her scenes that evening, she removed her makeup and recalled that Ling Qing had asked her to visit his room.

Even if they were playing against each other, why should she visit his room? Shouldn’t he come to her room?

In terms of seniority, she was his senior.

And in terms of class, she was a first rate TV show blossom.

How did it turn into her deigning to find Ling Qing?

Thinking this, Qin Yanyu added Ling Qing’s contact and sent him a message: [You come my room, I won’t go to you]

Ling Qing, who happened to still be eating dinner, saw this and replied with deliberation: [Why, you scared?]

Ling Qing: [I know your type, you guys are the ones who are the least dedicated of all.]

Ling Qing: [Whatever, I’m going to eat.]

Qin Yanyu saw his message and replied, but Ling Qing had already stopped responding.

Feeling somewhat vexed, she stifled her fury. It wasn’t as if not wanting to go to his room meant she was scared!

Just as Qin Yanyu was in the midst of hesitating in her room, she heard the sound of an incoming message.

Ling Qing: [It’s already half past eight. It’s already this late, so there’s no need to come. Worst comes to worse, I’ll just wait for some NG tomorrow.]

Qin Yanyu:…

Qin Yanyu looked at her watch and angrily rushed out.

“Is my junior sister almost here?” Zhong Huan asked as he ate late night snacks with Ling Qing.

“Should be.” Ling Qing passed him the last two skewers before he went to wash his hands in the restroom and awaited Qin Yanyu’s arrival.

Qin Yanyu’s speed wasn’t slow at all, and before long, there was a knock on the door.

Walking over to the door, Ling Qing opened it and allowed Qin Yanyu to reluctantly enter.

Once entering, she saw Zhong Huan, who was sitting on the couch, raise a hand and say to her, “Younger sis– bah, I mean, hello Sister Qin.”

Qin Yanyu: …

She turned her head to look at Ling Qing.

Closing the door, Ling Qing said, “Zhong Huan is the same as you. He’s also come to practice with me.”

“Then you guys go first.” Qin Yanyu said.

“You dumb?” Ling Qing stared at her. “You want to have a one-on-one with me, a man and a woman, to make a couple’s play? You’re really not afraid that people will make up some extravagant script for us.”

Qin Yanyu: …

“So, it’s best if we add Zhong Huan in. If people catch us, we’ll just say we’re playing Fight the Landlord*. Just so happens that there’s three of us.” *a Chinese card game consisting of three players that is commonly referred to in Chinese novels; Nei is a terrible Chinese person and doesn’t actually know how to play, and neither does she know how some novels have more than three people playing

Qin Yanyu: …

Qin Yanyu felt that made sense.

For the sake of this junior sister of his, Zhong Huan gracefully allowed Ling Qing and Qin Yanyu to reset tomorrow’s scenes. He could wait for Ling Qing and Qin Yanyu to finish before playing against Ling Qing.

Qin Yanyu took a quick peek at Ling Qing, who didn’t seem to mind. “Well, sure. Let’s get on with tomorrow’s scenes.”

The first scene was to be a sentimental one.

Glancing at Qin Yanyu, Ling Qing said earnestly, “Let’s go!”

Taking a deep breath, Qin Yanyu replied, “Commence.”

From the sidelines, Zhing Huan clapped enthusiastically and watched the performance.

Qin Yanyu’s performance in this scene wasn’t too shabby. It was probably due to wanting to prove herself that she did decently, and there were no major issues.

“Still okay.” Ling Qing ascertained.

“There’s nothing wrong with my acting skills, it’s just that I haven’t been feeling well these days.”

Since Zhong Huan was present, Qin Yanyu didn’t dare to say more.

Ling Qing didn’t expose her and said simply, “But you still have the same issues as you had previously.”

“What are you nitpicking about?” Qin Yanyu asked.

Ling Qing chuckled, “You a cactus? Is it worth it for me to pluck you?”

Qin Yanyu: …

Qin Yanyu felt that sooner or later, she’d be suffocated to death by Ling Qing.

“Well, before you say ‘what are you thinking about,’ you should make your affect more lively and your expression a bit more cute.” Ling Qing said conscientiously, breaking it down as he said each sentence.

“Was I not very lively just now?”

“Not really,” Zhong Huan said.

“Look.” Ling Qing reached a hand out and pointed to Zhong Huan.

Thinking for a moment, Qin Yanyu changed her tone and said, “What are you thinking about?”

“Not lively or cute enough. Again.”

“What are you thinking about?”

“Too much, again.”

“What are you thinking about?”

“I know exactly what you’re thinking about. It looks like you’re thinking about what you want to eat. You’re supposed to be vivacious and adorable, not acting like a ravenous tiger. Again.”

Qin Yanyu: …

Qin Yanyu felt that she really wanted to, really—— what was it that she wanted to do?

After more than ten repetitions, they finally passed that one sentence.

Ling Qing pointed at her eyes and said, “Look at me.”

Qin Yanyu raised her eyes to peer at him.

“Look at me affectionately. I’m He Chaoyang, your most beloved.”

Qin Yanyu: …

The most dreadful thing on this planet was not that you were in the same crew with your love rival, but that your love rival was in the same crew and he also played your love interest.

It’s too tragic!

She’s not a cactus, Ling Qing is!

A thorn was pierced right through her heart!

Qin Yanyu felt that she was the most miserable!

Closing her eyes, she opened them once more, displaying affection in them.

“Not enough.” Ling Qing stated, “Your feelings need to be deeper. I said it already, I’m your beloved. You can’t see me in the same way you see others.”

Qin Yanyu had no choice but to close her eyes and do it again.

“Still not right.”

“None of it is right.”

“Because your expression isn’t deep enough, you should smile a bit. Don’t smile too happily, just like you’re a little shy. Give me a shy smile and try again.”

Having heard this, Qin Yanyu lowered her head a bit and then slowly raised it. Her lips were slightly upturned, her eyes a little bent as she looked at him timidly.

“Really not bad.” Zhong Huang shouted.

Ling Qing also felt it was a bit better. Because her eyes were a bit narrow and her eyelids were slightly thinner, she didn’t have a naturally cheerful disposition.

Thus, if she wanted to express emotions, she could appear demure to counteract her eyes and appear a bit sweeter.

“Do it like this next time.” Ling Qing finished saying this and picked up the script and a pen from the table, marking the areas he thought should be improved.

Watching every stroke of his pen, Qin Yanyu analyzed him for a long time. He was quite imposing, like a teacher, so she asked unknowingly, “Have you ever been a teacher?”

“Do you think I’m that type of moral and upright person?”

“… A little.”

“Then that’s because you guys are too stupid.”

“Then you must be the only smart person in the world.” Zhong Huan said resentfully.

Ling Qing grinned, “At the very least, I’m smarter than you guys.”

Zhong Huan: …

“I’ve never met a person as brazen as you!”

Ling Qing laughed and turned his head up, as if to compare. “Now you have.”

Zhong Huan: …

Qin Yanyu: … This was the kind of person her idol liked?

So, she lost in the face of narcissism?

Qin Yanyu remained dubious.

Ling Qing looked at her. “You’ve never read the original novel, have you?”

Qin Yanyu was woken from her doubts and said hesitantly, “I was called in at the last minute, so I didn’t have the time.”

“You have the time to target me but not the time to read?”

He said this quietly in a way that Zhong Huan couldn’t hear.

Feeling ashamed, Qin Yanyu bowed her head and didn’t reply.

“Go back and read the original work. It never hurts to read the original. Additionally, the first audience of your performance are always book fans. You should sometimes aim to restore small parts of the original plot or other small details. It’s always a pleasant surprise, and they’ll praise you.”

“Understood.”

“Also, there’s another thing.” Ling Qing exposed, “You should practice your dialogue. Your dialogue is all over the place. Zhong Huan too. Both of you.”

“I’m fine.” Qin Yanyu defended, “I think my dialogue is pretty good.”

“You’re a little better than Zhong Huan, but only by a little. If you keep doing this, you’ll be exposed as soon as you hit the big screen.”

Qin Yanyu writ her brows. “You’re saying it as if you’ve been there.”

Ling Qing simpered, “It’s probably because I’m a born actor.”

Qin Yanyu: ???

“Otherwise, how come I’ve never had an NG?”

Qin Yanyu: …

There’s no way to refute him, this is too depressing.

After finishing up with Qin Yanyu, Ling Qing began to rehearse against and guide Zhong Huan.

By the time they finished, it was almost eleven. Checking the time, Ling Qing became anxious to chat with Yu Chen, and rushed the two of them out.

Qin Yanyu walked abreast Zhong Huan in the hallway, when she suddenly realized, “Wait a minute, didn’t he say he was going to practice with me? How did it turn into him instructing me? He’s not even the director.”

Zhong Huan thought to himself, “In his opinion, you’re a junior sister.”

“He’s a junior who actually went so far as to guide us two seniors. He really thinks too much of himself!”

“Well, isn’t it because we’re lacking?” Zhong Huan consoled himself.

Qin Yanyu: … Don’t you think what you said was very humiliating?!

She looked him up and down before saying, “It looks like you’re accustomed to it?”

“In the beginning, that wasn’t the case. But later, I found that filming really was easier every day. Today, Director Li praised me and said I was making rapid improvement. He said I was a lot better than when I first started.”

“So you just accepted it?”

“Is it bad if my acting skills improve?” Zhong Huan shrugged, “I’ve relied on my face to debut, but I can’t always do so. Oh, now that my acting has improved, won’t this be helpful for my future?”

That was true.

Qin Yanyu sighed loudly, “Then, you come here every night?”

“That’s normally the case.”

“Is there a time when that isn’t normal?”

“Well, when his childhood friend came to visit for two days, he didn’t come back to the hotel and stayed with his childhood friend.”

Qin Yanyu: … My heart was pierced by Xiao Zhong. That wasn’t his childhood friend, that’s his boyfriend.

Qin Yanyu gave an “oh” without saying anything else.

Zhong Huan lived on the same floor as Ling Qing, so he went to his room, bid goodbye to Qin Yanyu, and entered.

Qin Yanyu got into the elevator and returned to her room.

The next day, Ling Qing purposely sought out Qin Yanyu prior to filming.

The effects were pretty decent. Qin Yanyu corrected all of the areas Ling Qing had mentioned the night before, and her lines came more naturally. Surprised, Director Li finally felt that the hero and heroine had become a couple.

This was especially the case when Qin Yanyu said the lines “what are you thinking about,” with her head shyly turned, deliberately looking away from Ling Qing as she had her fingers wrapped in her waist ribbon.

It was so natural and coy, and full of a young lady’s sentiments.

Very satisfied, Director Li shouted excitedly, “Yes, that’s right! Yanyu, keep up this feeling, this feeling is great. I know you can do it!”

Qin Yanyu could only smile. Although she didn’t want to admit it, it seemed that Ling Qing was truly capable.

Well, whatever was the case.

From then on, Qin Yanyu could be regarded as an apprentice to Ling Qing.

Zhong Huan was so excited that he went so far as to make a group so that the three of them could communicate at any time.

Qin Yanyu felt that this was totally out of her hands, but didn’t seem to mind, so she obediently stayed in the group and received Ling Qing’s assignments alongside Zhong Huan every so often.

After completing her homework, she would attend evening class along with her senior brother Zhong Huan.

The three of them, the master and his disciples, got along with each other in harmony until one day, Ling Qing and Qin Yanyu were involved in a trending topic.

The content of the topic was simple yet exciting —— Qin Yanyu and Ling Qing’s romance, exposed!

  4. Steward is always funny haha. Like n like cancel out the like and rival likes
I love that the author tends to make the rivals/canon fodder realise their mistakes and learn from it in their stories. I like the idea that everyone deserves a chance for redemption, and that not every character who made bad takes is a bad person
