The Film Emperor Asks For Divorce Every Day 影帝每天都想离婚[穿书] Ch. 45

Translated by Neirith

‘She’s broken hearted, not worn out.’ Ling Qing thought to himself.

“Maybe she isn’t feeling well.”

“She’s feeling well and she still came to shoot. Such dedication.” Zhong Huan said with great respect.

Ling Qing: …

Ling Qing took a silent glance at the man next to him. He was so stupid, just how exactly did he muddle his way into the second tier?

He even started to think that Zhong Huan really was handsome!

Because it certainly wasn’t due to his smarts!

The two of them conversed for a while before it became Ling Qing and Qin Yanyu’s turn to start shooting.

The following scene was a sentimental shot in which He Chaoyang and Zhao Anning cleared up their misunderstandings and communicated as they strolled through the woods.

Rapidly adjusting his frame of mind, Ling Qing took a peek at Qin Yanyu, feeling somewhat worried.

Her state of mind really wasn’t good, and she still arrived to shoot a romantic scene with him. It was like she was rubbing salt into her wounds.

She grimaced, trying to improve her image before she approached Ling Qing.

“Action,” Director Li shouted.

Turning, Ling Qing looked gently at Qin Yanyu as he said, “Do you still remember the first time we met?”

Giving him a smile, Qin Yanyu replied, “You were avoiding me.”

“I was avoiding you, but in a twist of fate, still ran into you.”

“It means we’re fated.”

“Yes.”

“Did you miss me over the past few days?” Qin Yanyu asked.

“What do you think?”

She raised her eyes, and the moment she looked at him, became unable to enunciate the flirtatious “I don’t know” that she was supposed to have said.

When she realized that there shouldn’t have been a pause, she attempted to fix it, but those few seconds had already resulted in a disconnect.

“Cut.” Director Li shouted. “Do it again.”

Ling Qing had no choice but to start the scene over with her again. However, Qin Yanyu’s emotions had stagnated and resulted in multiple cuts.

The pair of them didn’t look like a happy couple. No, one of them was holding unrequited love.

Zhong Huan was puzzled. “What’s wrong with Sister Qin? It doesn’t even look like she’s feeling sick.”

Zhou Sihui sighed, “It’s probably that she’s feeling mentally unwell.”

“Huh?” Zhong Huan turned to look at her. “How do you know?”

“I don’t know, I’m guessing.” Zhou Sihui smiled, “You don’t need to worry about it.”

Zhong Huan wrinkled his brows, not saying anything.

Ling Qing performed with her three times and resulted in three cuts.

The director was unable to help but ask Qin Yanyu, “Yanyu, are you still feeling sick today?”

Qin Yanyu lowered her head. “I’m sorry.”

“Since you’re still feeling unwell, how about we shoot this scene later?”

Qin Yanyu nodded.

Exasperated, Ling Qing watched Qin Yanyu leave before he head toward Director Li. “If I remember correctly, didn’t Zhao Anning have a crying scene in the woods? Sister Qin is in the wrong state of mind today, maybe it’s better for her to shoot crying scenes instead of romantic scene. Why don’t we give it a shot?”

Thinking it over, Director Li felt this was pretty reasonable, so he called Qin Yanyu over and consulted her for her opinion.

Qin Yanyu hadn’t expected there to be an adjustment in the scenes and contemplated for a while before she nodded in agreement.

In accordance with Ling Qing’s request, Director Li didn’t say that it had been his idea. He directed the staff members to switch out the scene and prepare to commence filming.

This time, Qin Yanyu was in the right frame of mind and was able to pass quickly without any problems.

This was the first time that Ling Qing had seen her perform a crying scene. It was just like Yu Chen had said. She looked good even when crying, looking particularly pitiful and innocent, with a touch of stubbornness. The image of this rain struck blossom was very touching.

She really was made for shooting crying scenes.

When she finished filming, the tears still hadn’t ceased.

Instead of going back to her longue, she went back to her nanny van as her agent hurriedly followed.

Ling Qing also went in tow.

Confused, Xiao Liu asked, “Brother Ling, where are you going?”

Ling Qing chortled, “I’m going to take a head.”

“Huh?” Xiao Liu was bewildered.

Laughing, Ling Qing gave him a pat on the shoulder and went in the same direction as Qin Yanyu.

Qin Yanyu was sitting alone in her nanny van, covering her face as she sobbed quietly.

Ling Qing waited and waited, waiting until Qin Yanyu was ready to re-apply her makeup, before he approached.

Standing in front of Qin Yanyu, he smiled and said, “Let’s talk.”

Her agent immediately got between them, protecting her as if defending a young animal. “There’s nothing for Yanyu to say to you.”

“Don’t you want to have a chat with me? Have a final discussion?” Ling Qing smirked. “Or maybe you don’t dare.”

Qin Yanyu laughed and pushed her agent aside. “Very well, I’ll have a chat with you.”

She entered the nanny van once more, and Ling Qing followed.

Her agent attempted to follow but was stopped by Qin Yanyu. “No need, I want to talk to him alone.”

Her agent glanced at her with eyes full of worry.

Closing the door, Qin Yanyu looked at Ling Qing. “What do you want to talk to me about?”

Ling Qing returned her look, noticing that her eyes were still red. It appeared that her eyeliner had been wiped away, but she maintained a vigilant expression, as if entering battle.

Ling Qing leaned back in the seat and said easily, “How long do you plan to continue acting like this?”

“What do you mean?” Qin Yanyu asked him.

Ling Qing raised his gaze and stared at her with eyes unkind eyes as he scoffed, “Naturally, I’m talking about how you refuse to separate your private life from your work, allowing it to negatively impact your performance.”

Qin Yanyu was suffocated by his directness and said quietly, “I’m just not in a good mood today.”

“And when will your mood be good?” Ling Qing questioned, “Hasn’t it been this way from the first day? Haven’t you been in a bad mood this entire time?”

He slowly leaned towards her, “You’re one the company’s star actress. Do Huo Qi and Yu Chen know what you’re like on set?”

Qin Yanyu laughed lightly, “They don’t know. You can go ahead and tell them. Didn’t you have Yu Chen stick up for you before?”

“First of all, I haven’t let Yu Chen help me. If you’re referring to the inappropriate acts you’ve made toward me, then all I can say is that I tell Yu Chen. But, I’m not the only one with eyes. Even if I didn’t say anything, how can I control what other people say?”

“Second, it’s only obvious for Yu Chen to stick up, because he likes me. Don’t tell me you expected him to stick up for you?”

“You…” Qin Yanyu grit her teeth as she thought about her next words, but appeared to be at a loss. Finally, she could only reply, “So shameless.”

“How is this shameless? Don’t you think Yu Chen likes me? If I don’t say it out right, wouldn’t it make you look super stupid? So I’m saying it now, it’s for your own good.”

“Is this what you wanted to tell me? Then you can leave.” Qin Yanyu tried to drive him off.

“Of course not.” Ling Qing chuckled, “I came to tell you not to make a mess of things. Fate can give you the chance to change your life, but it won’t necessarily give you a second chance. So, don’t stray off the path, Qin Yanyu.”

She laughed gently without retorting.

“Go back five years ago. Do you still remember which actress was the most popular give years ago? Is she still the most popular right now? Within the entertainment circle, with its turnover rate, you’re only a small star with a few years of experience. Have you thought about where you’ll be in a few years?”

“You’re not the best at acting, and your looks aren’t the best. Your shows aren’t bad, but right now, you haven’t filmed even a supporting role in any movies. You’re still wasting time crying. As if one day of crying isn’t enough, you’ve cried for two. Do you think the entire entertainment industry will be as accommodating as Director Li? Waiting for you to finish crying before restarting?”

“It’s not something you need to worry about.”

“You’re overthinking things.” Ling Qing sneered, “You think I’m worried about you? You worthy of my worry?”

“I’m telling you this, because you’re holding me back, so I’m annoyed.”

“From the get go, you’ve continued to NG. Every time, it’s when I’m acting with you. I’ve waited for you and you’re still doing it.”

“You targeted me, and I didn’t care. You don’t like me, I don’t care. But if you can’t separate work from your private life and bring your emotions to work, holding me back. Do you think this is appropriate?”

“Is this the extent of your strength as the star actress? You’ve filmed for so many years, and you’re only at this level? How dare you look down on me? You’re a senior in this industry, and you still need a newcomer to cooperate with you, wait for you to get in the mood. Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?”

Qin Yanyu didn’t expect that he would have more to say and retorted angrily, “Ling Qing, you say it like it’s so simple. The one being hated isn’t you! It’s me! Of course you have a lot to say!”

“So you’re heartbroken. You made mistakes again and again, is it because of this?”

“You’ve already lost in love, so shouldn’t you channel your energy into your work?”

“Do you want to love three years of love as well as your career?”

Ling Qing drew closer, “Since you’ve already lost one, you shouldn’t want to lose the other, right?”

“You’re still young, only 25, and you have a lot of assets. If you cry for a day, cry for two days, there are still people willing to accomodate you. But if you continue to let your private life affect your work, wait until you’re 28 or 30. When a newer, younger woman appears, let’s see who will care about your crying and who will be willing to accomodate you.”

“Qin Yanyu, to get to where are you today, it took a lot of hard work, effort, and a little luck. It hasn’t been easy. But your position is unstable. Others won’t say it, but haven’t you felt it for yourself?”

“What people fear the most isn’t loss of love, but that after they’ve lost their love, they’ll fall to their lowest. So you should work harder.”

Qin Yanyu studied him for a long time before she said reluctantly, “My problems are for me to worry about. You don’t need to worry about it.”

“That’s for the best. But I’m still not confident in your abilities. Therefore, come to my room tonight.”

“What?” Qin Yanyu was confused.

Ling Qing glanced at her in frustration. “Don’t worry, even though you look pretty good, I prefer the type like Yu Chen. I’m not attracted to you.”

“I just don’t want to accompany you on set to make any more mistakes. So, we should rehearse in advance to prevent you from making any more.”

Having said this, he said deliberately, “Surely it’s not that you wouldn’t dare? Or, do you want to cry some more tonight? It’s not like your professionalism and attitude are bad, right?”

“Who said I’m crying tonight! What do you mean I wouldn’t dare!” Qin Yanyu snapped, “You think you’re so good at acting, if it weren’t that I wasn’t in the right mood these past few days, how would you be able to say this?”

“Then I look forward to your performance tonight~” Ling Qing said simply.

Qin Yanyu: I was tricked.

Ling Qing: Dealing with different types of people requires different methods~~

Neirith: Sorry this week’s chapter was a little late. I’ve decided to go back to school to get another degree, and it’s been quite a doozy. A lot has changed, everything is online, and this old lady can’t keep up. (T⌓T) There will be no chapter next week, because I will be taking exams.
