The Film Emperor Asks For Divorce Every Day 影帝每天都想离婚[穿书] Ch. 36

Translated by Neirith

Xiao Liu had thought it would be something funny, yet didn’t expect this answer.

He said earnestly, “Brother Ling, you do look good. I also think you look good.”

Looking at him, Ling Qing replied, “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” Xiao Liu felt his head. “Wait, Brother Ling, why didn’t you laugh this time?”

Ling Qing unexpectedly laughed at this question. He hadn’t expected him to ask.

“You wouldn’t understand.” He said.

Yu Chen had praised him for his appearance and this was obviously different from others praising him for his appearance. He liked it when Yu Chen praised him. Other people weren’t so important.

As he thought this, he sent Yu Chen a message: [When are you coming to visit?]

Yu Chen: [Wait a few more days.]

Yu Chen: [I’ve almost discovered who your brother is. I’m just waiting for the final confirmation. When I get all the information, I’ll come talk to you about it.]

Ling Qing didn’t think he would hear back so soon: [Okay, I’ll be waiting.]

Yu Chen: [Okay.]

On the other hand, Su Yue was sitting in a pub playing with poker. He unveiled his hand to the sound of many “wows” and cheers.

“Brother Yue, where’s your little white bunny been lately? Why hasn’t he come to find you recently?”

Su Yue smiled suddenly, his countenance appearing wicked and bewitching under the lights. “He’s hiding from me.”

“He dares hide from you?” The other person laughed a few times. “Fess up Brother Yue, you did something you shouldn’t have, didn’t you?”

“How could that be?” Su Yue calmly played with the cards in his hand as he said quietly, “It’s probably because Yu Chen got married. He’s feeling regretful, so he wants to get Yu Chen back.”

When the other person heard this, they sneered. “Brother Yue, that won’t do. How could that little bunny still have Yu Chen in his heart?”

“Right, Brother Yue, how could you let this go?”

“I can’t.” Su Yue put the cards in his hand down. “I’m letting him obediently return on his own.”

“What are you gonna do?”

Su Yue chucked. “Obviously, I just need to let him know that I’m the only one he can depend on.”

Meanwhile, Ling Bai was holding his phone. After hesitating for a long time, he stuffed it back in his pocket.

He had wanted to call Yu Chen, but he knew he wouldn’t get an answer. Sighing gloomily, Ling Bai regret his past words; if he’d known he wouldn’t have said them.

Presently, Yu Chen didn’t want to have anything to do with him. If he had anything to say, it had to go through Ling Qing, so annoying.

When he thought of how the thick thigh that had originally been his had been snatched by Ling Qing, it was almost unbearable.

Especially after Ling Qing and Yu Chen got married, his parents would often talk about Ling Qing and show off his marriage to Yu Chen.

It shouldn’t be this way!

The more he thought, the more he believed that Yu Chen should have belonged to him. The person who should have married Yu Chen was him. The person Yu Chen likes isn’t Ling Qing.

It was all because of Su Yue. If it hadn’t been for Su Yue, everything would have been fine.

As he thought of Su Yue, he recalled Ling Qing’s warning. Thinking of Ling Qing, he couldn’t help but feel a headache growing.

Before, he disliked Ling Qing. Not only did he dislike him, he was fearless. But now, not only was he afraid of Ling Qing, he was skeptical as to whether or not Ling Qing truly liked him.

Reason told him that Ling Qing was definitely lying to him. Yet, reason told him that this was totally unnecessary. Why would Ling Qing lie about this?

He didn’t want his money, and it didn’t seem like he wanted anything to do with him. It was only that he knew his secret, but never disclosed it and had even volunteered to keep it for him. In this way, it seemed like he truly liked him.

Unable to think it through, Ling Bai resolved not to think about it at all. Either way, it wasn’t like he was going to fall in love with Ling Qing. As long as Ling Qing kept his secret safe, it was fine.

And in regard to Su Yue, since he’d already lost Yu Chen, he couldn’t afford to lose Su Yue.

Nevertheless, he had to wait until Ling Qing helped him uncover the circumstances first. Otherwise, if he offended Ling Qing, he’d have much to lose.

Thinking as he walked out of school, he walked into a nearby alley to go to the bus stop, when he heard the sound of heavy footsteps.

Ling Bai paid them no attention until a few people surrounded him, smiling. “Classmate, lend us some money.”

Glancing at the people dressed as thugs, Ling Bai said in a fluster, “How much?”

“Let this big bro see how much you have.”

With no other choice, he retrieved his wallet from his pocket and took out the money inside. Someone moved to grab it, but Ling Bai was unwilling to let go. Then, the others around gave him a sharp kick.

Disoriented, he began to feel punches coming from every direction.

He suddenly felt that he’d returned back to his childhood —when he’d been bullied outside school.

It was the same at that time, they’d grabbed his money and begun to beat him when he didn’t give it. And if he gave a little less, he’d still be beaten.

Later, Yu Chen arrived and rescued him. He’d looked at Yu Chen as if he’d seen the light.

Grabbing onto Yu Chen, he trembled as he asked the other, “Can you protect me?”

At that time, Yu Chen was still a high school student and was far less reserved than he was now. He had smiled brightly and taken him to the infirmary.

Afterwards, he’d hidden in the safety of Yu Chen’s wings, enjoying the safety for many years until…

Until Yu Chen married Ling Qing.

Ling Bai felt this must be some sort of retribution. Retribution for taking Yu Chen’s kindness for granted. Retribution for his unruliness. That must be why he was facing the same thing now.

Only, this time, nobody came to save him.

Resisting in vain, Ling Bai was about to give up, when he heard a male voice say, “Beating people in broad daylight, aren’t you guys afraid of the police?”

The one who appeared to be the leader laughed disdainfully. “Boy, you better leave now. Mind your own business.”

“I didn’t want to care, but the police department is pretty close. I just called them. Someone will come to take care of you soon.”

“Yo, so brave.”

Feeling the people around him stop, Ling Bai shakily opened his eyes. It was only then that he noticed the people around him had backed away.

Were they going to go beat up the guy who had just spoken?

However, he soon heard the sound of fighting.

Those bastards that were still by his side quickly rushed to help their companions.

With great difficulty, Ling Bai stood up. After a moment, he saw someone beating the bullies to the ground before running over to him.

As Ling Bai stood in a daze, the other picked up his wallet and grabbed him, running away.

The other person ran really fast, and Ling Bai tried his best to keep up, despite the great difficulty.

Luckily, they didn’t have to run far before they found a taxi. The two quickly got in.

“Go downtown.” The person said.

Hearing this, the driver started the car.

It was then that Ling Bai had the opportunity to say to the person, “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.”

Raising his head, Ling Bai looked at him and asked, “Do you go to X university too? What’s your name?”

“Shu Tong. I’m in the School of Finance. What about you?”

“Management.”

Shu Tong nodded. “Why were those guys beating you?”

“They wanted to rob me. I gave it to them, but they still weren’t happy so…”

Shu Tong scoffed when he heard this. “You still handed it over. Even if you handed it over, they’d be unhappy.”

Ling Bai said nothing.

Shu Tong felt he was a little idiotic. “Here, your wallet.”

“Thanks.”

“No prob.” After having said this, Shu Tong leaned back in the seat, relaxed.

Ling Bai glanced at him unsuspectingly. This Shu Tong was very good-looking, with a great face and double lids that were slightly upturned, making him appear somewhat romantic.

Ling Bai felt that he looked somewhat familiar, but he couldn’t tell exactly from where.

“Why are you secretly staring at me?” Shu Tong gave him a sideward glance.

Ling Bai lowered his head guiltily.

Shu Tong laughed lightly, “Don’t tell me you’re captivated by my good looks? I know. I’m so handsome, and I rescued a damsel in distress, so you’re fond of me.”

Ling Bai: …

Ling Bai wanted to get off the car.

He refused to say anything until they got downtown. Shu Tong prepared to depart and asked the driver about the fare.

Ling Bai finally opened his mouth and said, “I’ll pay. After you get off, I’ll go home.”

Hearing this, Shu Tong didn’t decline and said his candid goodbyes before leaving.

Watching him through the window, Ling Bai saw him easily walking towards a business in the distance.

He really hadn’t expected for someone to show up and help him this time. He was really fortunate.

Retracting his gaze, Ling Bai gave his home address.

Su Yue waited a long time before the phone rang. He answered, asking, “Is it done?”

“He ran away.” The thug said, irritated. “We were in the middle of beating him and were about to contact you when someone came out of nowhere and took him away.”

Hearing this, Su Yue felt it was really laughable. That this kind of business could still be interrupted.

“Then, prepare to try again.” He said calmly, “He was saved once, will someone save him a second time?”

“Got it, Brother Yue.” The thug hung up.

When Ling Qing finished filming and returned to the hotel, it was already past nine o’clock. He simply washed up and was preparing to say a few words to Yu Chen before going to bed, when he suddenly heard someone knock on the door.

Curious, Ling Qing walked over and asked, “Who is it?”

“Open the door.” It was Zhong Huan’s voice.

Puzzled, Ling Qing opened the door and asked in confusion, “What are you here for?”

Zhong Huan: ???

Zhong Huan muttered, “Didn’t you invite me to come?”

“I did?”

“You knocked me on the head. Buddha knocked on Sun Wukong’s head three times when he wanted him to appear at the third watch. You hit me once, didn’t you want me to come at the first watch?”

Zhong Huan continued with conviction, “I even looked it up, the first watch is at night between the hours of seven to nine. It just so happens that we got off at nine. You really went through a lot of trouble.”

Ling Qing: …

Ling Qing couldn’t help but lower his head and laugh. What a buffoon, feeling so happy over this.

“Then why didn’t you come over at nine?” He took the opportunity to ask.

Zhong Huan was still acting aloof and noble, “You told me to come at the first watch. If I showed up right away, wouldn’t I be losing face?”

“So you picked the second watch?”

“Why did you ask me to come?”

Zhong Huan looked at him, “Buddha was Sun Wukong’s master, and he asked him to show up in the middle of the night to teach him. But you’re a newcomer, calling me in the middle of the night, you really think highly of yourself!”

Pulling him into the room, Ling Qing said, “Since I asked you to come, it’s naturally to teach you.”

Zhong Huan: ???

Zhong Huan felt that the buddy in front of him was really not afraid of bullshitting.

“You, you teach me?” He looked Ling Qing up and down. “You’re really a pig with green onions stuck in its nose —— a poser.”

“Then you’re a fire blowing tube acting as a telescope —— narrow minded.”

Zhong Huan: …

“Like a dog biting Lu Dongbin* —— not a good person.” Ling Qing sharply cut in. *Lu Dongbin, one of the Eight Immortals, was thought to repel evil

Zhong Huan chortled, “If you have the ability, take your heart out and let me look. I’ll judge if you’re a good person.”

“You wouldn’t be able to see it. I have the Seven Orifice Exquisite Heart. If you want to look, you need to be Su Daji.” Ling Qing said with a smirk. “Do you think you’re fiercer than Su Daji? Or maybe, you think you look like Su Daji*?” *a famous consort in the Shang dynasty, often portrayed as a vixen

Zhong Huan: …

Zhong Huan felt he was really able to take every single opportunity in order to boast about himself. What Seven Orifice Exquisite Heart, it was more like a tangram*. *seven orifice (qī qiào) sounds like tangram (qī qiǎo bǎn)

“What are you going to teach me?”

Walking over to the coffee table, Ling Qing picked up the script. “We’ll practice tomorrow’s scenes.”

Zhong Huan: ???

“Goodbye.” He turned to leave.

Ling Qing grabbed him. “Feeling guilty?”

“Feeling like I don’t want to waste time!”

“If you perform well, this scene only lasts about ten minutes. Of course, if you don’t perform well…”

Ling Qing let him go, “Well then, you’d better leave now. Otherwise, you might affect my sleep.”

As soon as he heard this, Zhong Huan turned around and grabbed the script. “You’re just a newcomer, what do I have to be afraid of.”

The author has something to say:

Half an hour later, Zhong Huan: I’m numb, I’m really afraid of this newcomer!! ╥﹏╥!

Zhong Huan’s about to captured ~~

Ling Qing: It’s really hard for me to find the time to teach you. Do you know how many people lined up for me to teach them in the past?

At the same time.

Yu Chen: Why isn’t Qing Qing replying to me? Is he asleep?

Steward: No, the Madam is busy helping his little brother hone his acting.

Yu Chen: …

Yu Chen felt he wasn’t going to be sleeping well tonight!

  2. Should we know Who is Shu Tong related to?! The author seems to insinuate it, but I don’t know Who it is.

The Scum is trying to get the White lotus back… I hope he won’t succeed.

    Thanks for the chapter!
