The Film Emperor Asks For Divorce Every Day 影帝每天都想离婚[穿书] Ch. 28

Translated by Neirith

“No need,” Ling Qing stated. “If he loses this role, he’ll hate the one who picks it up. Rather than letting him hate others, it’s better to let him hate me. After all, aren’t I one-sixth of a boss?”

“One-sixth?”

“Xiao Yu, Huo Qi, and Xu Han. Since Xiao Yu owns one-third, I as his spouse naturally account for half of it. Therefore, one-sixth.”

Yun He: … Are you trying to say you’re one of the bosses?

“Thus, it’s most suitable for me to pull this aggro.”

“Let’s just say,” Ling Qing started calmly, “That the investment in this drama isn’t small. It’s clear that the intent is to support people, but who’s to say that there won’t be another Chen Hongming? Certainly not me, since I own one-sixth of this company.”

‘That is true’, Yun He thought. Even if he divorces Yu Chen in the future, their property would be split evenly. He’d certainly gain a lot, the most out of anyone.

“Then you should be prepared to bear others’ hatred and envy.”

Ling Qing leaned back evenly in his seat and gave a light, indifferent smile. “Isn’t the entertainment circle rife with hatred and envy?”

“In everyone’s eyes, they’ll only see me, a newcomer, drop in on the《March Peach Blossom Smile》that the crew is already carrying. Those who don’t know will only think I was brought in to save Morning Rise, so how could I have signed with them?”

Yun He hadn’t expected that he would see things so clearly. She smirked and replied, “You certainly weren’t brought in to save Morning Rise, since you’re a boss yourself.”

“Outsiders would only think I’m super lucky. What I’m most concerned about right now is,” Ling Qing paused and peered at her, flashing a probing smile, “If I play He Chaoyang, then Chen Hongming’s fans definitely won’t let me go. Wouldn’t they say I stole their big bro’s role? How do you intend to deal with it?”

“From the sounds of it, it seems like you already have a plan?”

“Surely, I have a few, but I want to hear yours.”

‘This is clearly a test’, Yun He thought.

She looked at Ling Qing, who she originally believed was merely a vase who was acting only to appease his narcissism. Surprisingly, he was much more intelligent than she had believed.

Not only that, but he was clear-sighted and dauntless.

This type of character surprised Yun He. It was a pleasant surprise.

She leaned close to Ling Qing and quietly explained her plan. “What do you think? Is that okay?”

Looking at her eyes that were filled with confidence, Ling Qing smiled. “No wonder Chen Hongming is so popular. I was just thinking, ‘how can such a short-sighted and careless person become popular so quickly’? It seems you have a lot to do with it.”

Yun He maintained a tender and unperturbed expression. “Just doing my job.”

“Then, we’ll go with your plan.”

“Okay.” Once she finished speaking, she looked at the person before her and felt that this might be the future of Morning Rise.

He was smarter, more handsome, and more ambitious than Chen Hongming. And most importantly, he was one with Yu Chen.

Thus, he and Yu Chen should be of one mind, both striving towards the future of Morning Rise.

After two o’clock, Ling Qing was led to the audition location by Yun He.

Most of those who came to participate were artists under Morning Rise. The first reason was simply because this was a drama that Morning Rise had invested in.

The second reason was that although Chen Hongming hadn’t signed the contract, he had basically announced that he was taking part. Although Yu Chen had replaced him, not many knew this.

Even Chen Hongming himself had no clue.

He had planned to have one last bite of the cake, intending to play He Chaoyang before leaving.

It was a pity that he was never destined to have another bite of this cake.

Ling Qing waited until the first three prospects had auditioned before he entered.

As he opened the door in silence, his eyes met with Director Li’s. This was the director of 《March Peach Blossom Smile》.

Director Li had already learned that his male lead had been changed. As an experienced director with many years in the industry, he knew that his only responsibility was to complete the filming, and he knew the job well.

As for who was cast, this was determined by the producers and investors. He only needed to take the money and produce a film, the rest of the process was superfluous to him.

Additionally, he didn’t have any goodwill towards Chen Hongming. Once the crew had decided on Chen Hongming, they’d invited him to audition. More than once. However, Chen Hongming had flung about his popularity and indicated that it was unnecessary.

“I’ve already been decided for the role. What’s the use of auditioning? I’m too busy for this kind of thing, it’s a waste of time.”

Director Li had never met Chen Hongming, but when he heard these words, he was dissatisfied.

There was not a single director who liked to work with arrogant actors, including Director Lee.

So now, he didn’t complain. Regardless of whoever played the male lead, a job is still a job. However, if this new actor was decent, polite, and humble, then that would be all for the better.

Thinking about how he could select the actor with the most skills out of this limited selection, Director Li became somewhat glad.

After all, the industry relied on the popularity of actors in order to garner interest, while directors preferred actors’ skill.

Whether or not an actor was popular was something he was unconcerned about.

When Ling Qing walked in, Director Li had just finished scoring the last candidate. He looked up to see him, and his eyes shone.

Ling Qing’s appearance was clearly superior, with pleasant eyebrows that were slightly sharp, yet hyper aggressive and straight, like an arrow.

Director Li glanced at him, as he smiled and asked, “You’re Ling Qing, right?”

“Yes.” Ling Qing bowed politely and returned, “Hello.”

“Turn to the script and perform the first time He Chaoyang enters Suizhou.” As he said this, he tossed out the fan sitting beside him.

Ling Qing raised his hand and caught the fan, opening it with a sharp ‘snap,’ gently fanning himself as he smiled and murmured, “Many thanks.”

His appearance became unreasonably distinguished, as the corners of his mouth tilted up into a smile. Then, his expression instantly changed, mirroring that of the novel’s He Chaoyang.

The length of Ling Qing’s audition was longer than Yun He had imagined. She worriedly paced outside the door.

After a long while, it finally opened.

Ling Qing sauntered out with a fan.

Walking over briskly, Yun He asked, “How was it?”
